Today is one of those days where, despite only a handful of aces slated to start, there are a bunch of good DFS options thanks to some combination of talent, matchups, and prices. You don’t have to pay up for Madison Bumgarner or be one of the 20 percent of people in your contests with Drew Pomeranz. You can find high-upside options for both tournaments and cash games throughout our rankings, so tonight is a good opportunity to play a couple different lineups in both kinds of contests....

You could go a couple different directions with your pitchers today if you decide not to pay up for one of the aces. There are a couple steady, mediocre-strikeout pitchers (Jordan Zimmermann, Masahiro Tanaka) and a few riskier, high-K options (Carlos Martinez, Aaron Sanchez). In DFS, it’s almost always better to chase the strikeouts, but you could actually differentiate yourself in big tournaments if you take the “boring” pitcher. Either way, there are a lot of good arms on the hill today, so you should be able to find someone to fit your strategy....

Lots of expensive aces for and good values for your cash-game and tourney lineups in tonight’s 13-game slate, so there is going to be a wide variety of lineup combos across the board. For that reason, I wouldn’t worry too much about trying to be “different” on the mound; just make sure you get a solid starter with a good chance to win. You can find plenty of ways to be different in your offense with several low-quality pitchers on the mound who will make scrubs look like All-Stars tonight....

A full evening slate starting with Tigers-Indians at 6:10 p.m. ET means plenty of pitcher options for Tuesday night. It’s getting a little trickier to pick a daily fantasy pitcher, especially in the early slate, but fortunately there are still some bona fide aces going. There’s no excuse for whiffing on pitcher today, as there are plenty of decent mid-range and high-priced options.
