When these teams met in Week 8 last year, the result was an epic 52-49 shootout between future Hall of Fame quarterbacks Drew Brees (511 yards and 7 touchdowns) and Eli Manning (350-6). It was a game that “helped” each secondary finish at the bottom of the NFL and each defense finish 31st and 32nd, respectively, against fantasy quarterbacks. The best news for those in DFS contests this week? These defenses didn’t look much better against the pass in Week 1....

ESPN’s report added that there haven’t been any setbacks. Both sides are optimistic a deal eventually will get done because the Cowboys want to keep Prescott and the quarterback wants to be there. The update comes after Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said earlier this month an extension for Prescott would be “done on a imminent basis.” He later backtracked those comments, saying: “I was asked my opinion. … It sure might not be Dak’s opinion....

Before the Cowboys’ frustrating 10-7 loss in New York at MetLife Stadium on Sunday night, Prescott’s worst game in his first season in Dallas was his first game. Since then it had been perfection on the road, first-half dominance, second-half heroics, and all-around veteran savvy. NASCAR announced Thursday that it would require drivers to take the ImPACT test before the season and the test would be used to help clear a driver who suffers a concussion. Earnhardt did not inform NASCAR personnel of his concussions as he was quickly treated following the first accident at an August tire test at Kansas Speedway, and then was not looked at by medical personnel after he drove the car back to the garage following an Oct....

He is making significant progress, however, and credits not only his doctors but also the help of his family and friends. At the top of that list is his fiancée, Amy Reimann, whom Earnhardt says plays a key role in his recovery. In a strange twist, both the driver and crew chief insist that they don’t feel a lot of pressure despite a flat tire that led to a wreck and a 39th-place finish Sunday in the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway. At 11th in the standings and 25 points behind the current Chase cutoff of eighth, Earnhardt faces an uphill battle to advance to the third round of the Chase....

Just to clarify, he wasn’t referring to his tangle with Carl Edwards in that race. He made that clear this week in a podcast. At the AGM of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) here Sunday, Dalmiya’s name was doing the rounds for the post of Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman, which post finally went to Ranjib Biswal. Sources told IANS that it was Dalmiya’s age that went against his appointment as the IPL chairman. Dalmiya, 73, was the given the charge to promote the game in the northeastern states....

Now, that same injury will cause him to miss Game 5 with what the Trail Blazers diagnosed as a right knee sprain. As he planted his right leg, his knee buckled slightly and seemed to cause him trouble after. OK, so maybe he didn’t come up with the concept for these, but based on his past with Comic Sans font, it’s not that far of a stretch. These jerseys are hideous. One can only hope Gilbert is making some elaborate prank. Either way, he gave fans a sneak peek of three new alternate options and they’re all equally atrocious.
